Dreamers Are Never Alone
Lou Rogers
I felt alone in the class room
Sitting very still - -
My mind filling with dreams
With every dream sneaking in
Very much against my will
The teacher was chalking
Words on the blackboard
When suddenly,- as if someone
Had tapped her on the shoulder
She spun around
With her glance scanning the room
Her eyes getting bolder and bolder
It took only a second
Until her sharp eyes found mine
I looked down at my pencil
And tried to frown
But all I managed to do
Was to feel like a clown
First, I heard her footsteps - -
Then her voice, saying, “come here!”.
I came out of my seat
Feeling alone in my fear
I didn’t look up
To know where I was going
But soon as I did
What a surprise!
There was half my class
Walking forward with me
All with fear in their eyes.
